Silk is a delicate and luxurious material which should be handled with care. To maintain the appearance of shoes, avoid contact with water and abrasive surfaces. Visible dust and debris can be gently brushed off the surface with a clean, soft cloth. A silk-specific protectant spray can be used to enhance the longevity of the material but should be spot-tested in a small area before applying over the whole shoe. Stains may be treated with a gentle cleaning solution specifically for delicate materials, which can be applied carefully with a damp but not saturated cloth or soft brush. Allow shoes to air dry completely, avoiding any direct heat or sunlight. Store shoes inside a dust bag to protect against sunlight, dust, and other environmental hazards.
