Edward Meller x Carla Zampatti: Celebrating 60 Years of Iconic Style

Edward Meller Returns as Official Shoe Partner for Carla Zampatti’s 60th Anniversary Runway at Australian Fashion Week 2025

On Monday, 12 May 2025, Edward Meller proudly returned as the official shoe partner for Carla Zampatti, opening Australian Fashion Week with a breathtaking runway presentation celebrating 60 years of the iconic Australian fashion house. Marking a milestone moment in the industry, the Carla Zampatti 60th Anniversary Runway honoured six decades of empowering design and enduring style, and Edward Meller was there to help bring every look to life.

As part of this special partnership, our Creative Director, Yael, worked closely with the Carla Zampatti team and renowned stylist Jess Pecoraro to create an exclusive runway footwear collection designed to complement and elevate the elegance of the anniversary show. Together, they crafted a capsule of silhouettes that perfectly harmonise with Carla Zampatti’s timeless aesthetic and forward-thinking glamour.

A Runway-Ready Capsule Collection

The runway edit features four statement-making styles—each created exclusively for the show and set to arrive in-store later this year. Customers can register their interest for the styles now.

From Concept to Craftsmanship

The collection was born from a collaborative visit in early February, when Yael met with the Carla Zampatti team and Jess Pecoraro at the Carla Zampatti showroom in Sydney. There, she reviewed the silhouettes and colour palette of the collection and previewed materials that would inspire the shoes' final form.

Following the creative meetings, Yael travelled to China’s “Shoe City” to source the perfect materials to bring the runway collection to life, prioritising colour, texture, and the elevated design language both brands are known for. Among the standout material choices is Tejus, a new high-gloss embossed leather that adds a luxurious edge. Hints of metallic finishes and the introduction of Cherry Suede, a bold and feminine new hue debuting in Edward Meller’s SS25 collection, are also among the standout material choices.

Post-Show Highlights

In a landmark event staged on the iconic Sydney Harbour, the Carla Zampatti 60th Anniversary Runway officially opened Australian Fashion Week with Ubiquity — a powerful presentation celebrating six decades of design excellence, innovation, and cultural influence. Since its founding in 1965, the Carla Zampatti brand has defined a uniquely Australian elegance, empowering generations of women with its signature sophistication and strength.

The runway featured 60 curated looks, including 14 exclusive designs by some of Australia’s most acclaimed designers: Michael Lo Sordo, Pip Edwards, Toni Maticevski, Christopher Esber, Romance Was Born, Gail Sorronda, Kit Willow, Akira Isogawa, Iordanes Spyridon Gogos, Alix Higgins, Grace Lillian Lee, Mariam Seddiq, Beare Park, and Bianca Spender. Each look paid homage to Carla Zampatti’s enduring legacy through their own creative lens — a collective tribute to a woman and a brand that helped shape Australian fashion.

Integral to the visual story were three exclusive Edward Meller footwear styles designed especially for the occasion. Handcrafted to reflect the elegance and edge synonymous with both brands, the shoes elevated each look with refined craftsmanship and modern detail.

The standout style of the evening was the WARRIOR110 gladiator platform, shown in black, gold, and white Tejus — a new high-gloss embossed leather that brought bold texture and dramatic polish to the runway. These directional heels grounded the collection with strength, structure, and unapologetic glamour.
